Don’t Seek Attention
Rodri reminds young footballers to focus on the game in front of them
To celebrate Spain’s World Champion title, we celebrated the mindset of the team’s captain and player of the match, Rodri.
Rodri, as a midfielder, knows well that it’s the quiet work that leads to victory. Throughout his career, he has overcome all sorts of obstacles – from self doubt to injury – and he got through them all the same. By working hard and bringing his attention to the game. Not trying to steal the spotlight, but rather controlling the match unnoticed. “No llames la atención” roughly translates to “Don’t seek attention”. It’s something lots of Spanish kids hear growing up – when they are too loud in public, when they do something a bit too out there. In this campaign, we use it to highlight Rodri’s strengths, and the fact that if he’s doing his job well, one could go the entire game without seeing him. But if you look at him, you can see the whole game unfolding in front of you. It serves as a reminder for young ballers out there that one doesn’t need to be the flashiest player on the team to become a world champion – just a really hard working one.
